Wedding Trip: The Big Day!

I started out my wedding day the right way. With coffee, bacon, and key lime pie.

I actually managed to not be super nervous because Erin, awesome friend that she is, made us a wedding weekend survival kit. I transferred it to my boom-box purse. If something went wrong, I had the thing to fix it, probably.

John, from Medusa's Mane came over just before 1 p. m. to do our hair and make-up.

Here are close-up pictures of my hair- Jer took them much later so nevermind the dark windows or my shiny, shiny face.

After our hair and make-up was done, Mom and Janet helped me into my dress. Because we'd decided on a beach that would be busy until we got there, Natalie, our photographer wanted us to be there a few minutes earlier- so we packed up and hurried over. Sombrero beach is only 11 minutes away. Natalie spotted us as soon as we pulled up, and no one else was there to get married. We'd seen two brides the day before when we went to scout the beach. There were people, and plenty of them, but we were there, and we were doing it, and the small amount of nervous energy allowed me to ignore everybody.

We will have more photos from the actual ceremony in a few weeks. The ceremony was short and sweet. Lavina, my mother, officiated, and my dad and Jer's mother both contributed readings. It meant a lot to us that all of our parents were involved. I cried. Jer didn't. More photos to follow.

When we finished the ceremony, we spent the rest of the time as the sun set taking pictures. After, we drove to the Butterfly Cafe for dinner. We sat outside on a beautiful porch. The food and service were fantastic.

Mom wanted to go out dancing after dinner, but Jer and I were both exhausted. We called it an early night.
